About

We’re part of your team — not an outside firm.

Real support for ASCs without ownership, hourly fees, or equity strings—just practical, hands-on compliance help.

Our approach

Compliance shouldn’t be intimidating

Ambulatory Healthcare Strategies exists to empower surgery centers with practical, hands-on compliance support that simplifies the complex and keeps your team focused on what matters: excellent patient care.

Because the heart of our work is retainer-based, we don’t drop in from the outside and hand you a report. We work as an extension of your staff—your embedded compliance department—so your center stays survey-ready every day, not just in the weeks before a survey. Every surgery center, whatever its size or specialty, deserves that level of expert support.

  • No ownership stake or equity requirement

The person behind AHS

Decades in the room where ASC compliance happens

John Goehle is one of the nation’s leading Ambulatory Surgery Center experts—and the reason AHS clients get more than advice.

Drawing on decades of hands-on experience in ASC operations, finance, and regulatory compliance, John has become a trusted voice for administrators, owners, and governing bodies navigating Medicare certification and survey readiness. He is the author of eight books on the industry, including The Survey Guide for ASCs—a guide to the CMS Conditions for Coverage and Interpretive Guidelines—and ASC Governance. His work translates complex CMS and accreditation requirements into guidance surgery center teams can actually use.

He is also a frequent speaker at ASC conferences and the host of The ASC Podcast with John Goehle, where he shares practical insight with the surgery center community. His credentials—an MBA and the CASC (Certified Administrator Surgery Center)—reflect the blend of business and operational expertise he and the AHS team bring to every center they work with.

That team carries deep experience across CMS, AAAHC, TJC, Quad A, ACHC, DNV, and state standards—spanning infection control, credentialing, life safety, policy development, survey preparation, compliance recovery, and ASC leadership development.
